A NEW website has been launched to help tenants find quality private homes for rent in York.

The YorProperty accreditation scheme only lists homes where landlords or agents have signed up to certain safety and security standards, including gas safety, carbon monoxide detectors and registering with a tenancy deposit scheme.

Under the Standard scheme, landlords exceed current legal standards by fitting carbon monoxide detectors, while under the Plus Standard scheme, higher levels of security and decor are required.
