A MUSIC showcase event at The Duchess in York raised more than £500 for charity.
The gig, in aid of the Education Partnerships Africa, featured York prodigy Benjamin Francis Leftwich among others, and raised £550 for the charity which is a volunteer-run organisation seeking to improve the quality of secondary education in rural East Africa.
Organiser, Jamie Shepherd, said: "While raising money for charity, the idea of the show was really to bring together some of the best acts currently on offer in York - all of the acts offered a different genre even with magician Tom Crosbie on stage in the half-time slot. There was something for everyone."
