VILLAGERS in East Yorkshire will hold an open gardens event and scarecrow trail on Sunday to raise money for Help For Heroes and their playing fields.
Residents, of Melbourne, near Pocklington are opening their gardens and there will be canal boat trips along the Pocklington Canal from noon on the day; the gardens will be open between 1pm and 6pm.
Other attractions include a car boot sale between 1pm and 5pm, a pony and trap shuttle service, and the scarecrow trail.
Refreshments will be available all afternoon at the playing fields.
Entry is £3. Accompanied children and members of the armed forces and cadets attending in uniform are free. To pre-book a space at the car boot sale phone 01759 318382.
