THESE riders were among an enterprising group of Yorkshire cyclists who successfully completed a 1,000-mile Land’s End to John O’Groats marathon.
The 12 members of Yorvik Explorer Scouts, from Dringhouses, pedalled over the finishing line in glorious sunshine on Monday, a day ahead of schedule for a well-earned photocall with their Scout leader, Michelle Wilson, left.
The cyclists, who left Land’s End on July 27, stayed at 13 camp sites and six youth hostels during their marathon, hope to raise a substantial sum in sponsorship for Martin House Hospice, in Wetherby.
The centre, opened by the Duchess of Kent in 1987, provides family-led care for young people with life-limiting conditions.
