A GIANT replica Georgian bed is being installed at a National Trust property north of York to mark the start of its Big Green Festival.
The event, which is taking place at Beningbrough Hall on Saturday and Sunday, will celebrate all things green.
The replica of the baroque crimson damask State Bed inside the hall is made with a base of peat-free compost and red plants instead of a mattress.
The four-poster bed will have recycled curtains and will use rainwater and capillary matting to water the plants as well as harvesting water into chamber pots underneath it.
The event will feature local food and craft stalls, green living products and events such as scarecrow-making workshops, composting, bee-keeping and gingerbread workshops.
