RESIDENTS living near the site of a proposed £30 million energy centre between York and Selby will be able to learn more about the scheme next week.
A public exhibition will be held over plans to transform the disused North Selby mine into a facility for producing renewable power.
The proposals, which could create up to 100 jobs, have been drawn up by UK Coal and Peel Environmental, with the backing of Science City York, with the aim being to also use the centre for research purposes.
Professor Nicola Spence, Science City York’s chief executive, said: “This will provide a unique opportunity to drive business growth across the region.
The public exhibition will be held at Escrick and Deighton Social Club on Tuesday, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
