YORK renewable energy company Solarwall has extended its eight year partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council and energy company nPower to offer homeowners and landlords discounts on professionally installed cavity wall and loft insulation.
Coun Symon Fraser, cabinet portfolio holder for environment, housing and planning, said: “There’s no denying that last winter was a cold one and, with the weather and the current economic climate biting, it has never made so much sense to insulate properties before this winter comes around.”
In previous years the partnership has resulted in the insulation of about 12,000 cavity walls and 11,000 lofts in East Riding of Yorkshire households.
Due to popular demand and further funding from the local authority, the scheme has returned and available to private homeowners and private landlords or their tenants, subject to landlord’s approval, in the East Riding of Yorkshire Council area.
