ON SATURDAY last, a friend from Leeds came with me to Bootham Crescent for the Bradford match.
He was told that though I, a season-ticket holder, could go in, he could not buy a ticket as the ground was completely full. My friend unselfishly insisted that I should still watch the match, yet I found myself at the kick-off, counting untaken seats.
Across my field of vision – half of one section of the Pop stand and half the next section across the aisle – I found 42 untaken. I could also see a block of perhaps 80 vacant in the main stand.
York City should have on screen exact, up-to-date information of how many seats have gone. Instead they rely on a plain wrong blanket claim that there were none left.
Visitors, keen to buy, were turned away unhappy and their money with them. Not clever, not good management.
