IN REPLY to John Cossham (Letters, April 13), there is a small typed notice in the rear nearside window of my car which reads: “Please note I am going somewhere which is too far to walk or cycle and is not available to public transport. So shut up.”

This applies to 99.9 per cent of the vehicles you see on the road. Also, with petrol getting near £1.20 a litre my motoring requires nearly as much pre-planning as Apollo 11. I could also point out that I, like several hundred other drivers, have a ‘Blue Badge’.
