Costs us againANGELA Brader raises another aspect of the bottomless pit of money which is apparently available to satisfy the whims of a minority interest, for example cycling (Letters, August 2). In my days on the police authority, the involvement of the police on these sort of events had to be funded by the organisers. Can we assume that the cyclists all contribute to the cost of policing the traffic delays involved? I think not.

More than likely it is yet again Joe Public forking out for the inconvenience and pollution caused through self-inflicted traffic chaos. What a wonderful advert for visitors to our city.
