DUE TO the imminent closure of RAF Lyneham, members of the British Forces killed in action in Afghanistan will now be repatriated via RAF Brize Norton, where a centre has been built.

Corteges will pass by a new memorial garden nearby, where those, who previously gathered spontaneously from 2007 at Wootten Basset, can pay respects.

Since October, 2001, this conflict has cost 379 killed and 16,000 wounded members of the British Forces. Many of the wounded have their life changed forever. For a questionable cause, since original alleged reason of ‘find Bin Laden’ no longer applies.

Thousands of Afghans have been trained in policing and armed force duties by the United Nation forces personnel. It is time for Britain and supporting nations handed back to the Afghans the responsibility of their own country. This country was given independence in 1919 – allow them to practice it.
