THE ever musically adventurous folk trio Lau play in Pocklington tonight, but please note the location: All Saints Church, not the Arts Centre.
Winners of the Best Group category in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for a fourth time this year, having triumphed from 2008 to 2010, these free-thinking visionaries are unquestionably modern folk’s most innovative band.
In the line-up are Orcadian songwriter, singer and guitarist Kris Drever, accordion and electronics pioneer Martin Green and Scottish fiddler Aidan O’Rourke.
Lau, who appeared on BBC2’s Later… with Jools Holland last year, have been touring the world in 2013, playing Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and North America in support of last year’s Race The Loser album.
Tickets are still available for tonight on 01759 301547 or at pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk
