Paris Jackson has reportedly re-connected with her mother Debbie Rowe.

The teenager has been secretly meeting up with her mum - who was married to Paris' father Michael Jackson from 1996 to 1999 - after publicity-shy Debbie got in touch with her for the first time in years.

A source told TMZ that Paris spent her 15th birthday on Wednesday with Debbie, adding: "The two just hung out. They've gotten really tight."

Debbie is thought to be keeping the meetings private because she doesn't want people to think she is exploiting the relationship for money, rumours which have haunted her in the past.

'Thriller' hitmaker Michael was given full custody of Paris and her elder brother Prince Michael in 1999, and in return gave his ex-wife Debbie an $8 million settlement and a house in Beverly Hills.

Debbie then asked a judge to terminate her parental rights in 2001, before deciding to have the decision reversed when Michael was charged with 10 counts of child abuse in 2004.

Debbie reached a settlement in August 2009 with Michael's mother, Katherine Jackson - who became the children's legal guardian following her son's death - which allowed her rights to supervised visitations.

Last month, Katherine filed a motion asking the judge in the family's wrongful death lawsuit against AEG Live to exclude any evidence relating to the children's paternity, including 11-year-old son Blanket, who was born via a surrogate mother.
