THERE will be bitter and batter galore at a village beer festival this week.
The Jolly Farmers in Leavening near Malton is holding a festival from today until Sunday - culminating in the World Yorkshire Pudding Eating Championships at 3pm on Sunday.
There is also live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, more than 20 real ales and ciders on the bar, and a Great Yorkshire Quiz on Sunday afternoon, following the eating contest.
The pub is in the Main Street in the village, and is the current 'country pub of the season' for the York branch of the Campaign for Real Ale.
