A RACIST attack said to have taken place on a train between York and Leeds has prompted British Transport Police (BTP) to launch a witness appeal.
Officers are looking for two men alleged to have shouted racial abuse at a woman on board the 19.08 service from York to Leeds on Saturday, October 6. They then left the train at Micklefield.
PC Jon Hol said: “The victim, a 24-year-old woman from Wakefield, was travelling on the train with her mother when two men sat on the seats adjacent to them. The two men are then alleged to have begun shouting racial abuse directed at the woman.”
Anyone with information is asked to phone BTP on 0800 40 50 40, or phone Crimewatch anonymously on 0800 555 111.
