ORGANISERS of York’s Christmas ice rink say they are preparing for a stunning performance by a troupe of international ice dancing superstars.
The Imperial Ice Stars feature 26 Olympic, world, European and National Championship skaters, who between them hold more than 250 competition medals.
“This world-renowned troupe take contemporary ice dance to a new level with their daring and graceful feats – some of which are so complex they haven’t yet been named – performed in the intimate setting of a frozen theatre stage,” said a spokeswoman for the Ice Factor rink at the Fulford Designer Outlet.
The stars will perform after Olympic gold medallist boxing champion Luke Campbell from Hull, double Olympic champion Ed Clancy from Barnsley and Team GB’s first medallist of London 2012, Lizzie Armitstead, from Otley, have opened the Winter Wonderland rink at 6.30pm on Friday.
The spokeswoman said the rink would be open from Saturday until January 6.
She added: “Booking is advisable, and can be done easily through our new online ticket shop at www.theicefactor.co.uk or through our Facebook page.”
