RYEDALE played host to traction engines of all shapes and sizes at the weekend as Pickering’s traditional Steam Rally went ahead.
Organisers were delighted with the attendance and fine weather which attracted families and sightseers to the rally, taking place for the 61st time this year.
The rally kicked off on Thursday and the first of the two road runs took place on Friday afternoon.
“The run was very well received, there were hundreds of people out to see it in Thornton-le-Dale,” organiser Simon Boak said.
The second road run went ahead around Pickering on Saturday afternoon, and the town’s market place was closed off to make room for the engines.
“The town centre was packed with people,” Simon said.
The weekend also hosted stage shows and a performance by the musical comedy performers the Brett Domino Trio on Saturday evening.
