When you love something, you don’t want to let it go – and that’s exactly how one Thomas The Baker fan felt when he discovered their cheese straws.
Tony Henk, from the Isle of Lewis, off the north-west coast of Scotland, loved the family bakery’s cheese straws so much when he tried them in Haxby, near York, that he wrote to the bakery to ask them to deliver directly to him.
He said: “You just can’t get better ones anywhere else; they are so lovely and delicious.”
The bakery now makes the 450-mile delivery to Tony’s home on a regular basis and he has even become the company’s official cheese straw taster, testing out their durability during transit for Thomas’s frozen Bake At Home range.
