EIGHT new homes are to be built on the site of a former petrol station in York.

Proposals by Treatprefer Ltd for the development in Mill Lane, Heworth, have been approved by City of York Council after the Burmah filling station and shop closed because of competition from nearby supermarkets and other stores.

The homes will each have four bedrooms. The planning approval requires the developers to provide full details of how the site will be decontaminated.
