The region is bracing itself for a cold snap, which could spell danger for this group of recently born ducklings.
Forecasters are warning that Arctic weather could be around the corner, with wintry showers predicted for next week, and the mercury expected to remain below freezing.
Such weather is not unusual for late November, but could be a threat to the newborn ducklings, recently spotted near the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, in Fossgate.
The normal season for hatching is between March and July, but recent mild autumn weather is thought to be to blame for the unseasonal arrivals.
