Lorry fire on A64
Update: The incident has now been cleared and traffic returned to normal.
A LORRY fire on the A64 is causing heavy tailbacks this morning.
The vehicle is believed to be carrying a load of plastic flowers, and the fire caused heavy smoke on the eastbound carriageway close to Tadcaster.
The fire has been put out but one lane of the carriageway remains closed and will reopen once the vehicle has been recovered.
Motorists are advised to expect heavy delays past the incident.
