POLICE investigating the theft of a safe from a York shop have appealed for vital witnesses to come forward.
As reported previously, thieves raided the Cornish Pasty Bakery in Colliergate, York. Police now say the theft happened between 5.50am and 6am on Tuesday.
Detectives said a number of suspects were seen outside the shop before to the incident, and have urged anyone who passed them to contact police.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said two cars and a bicycle passed the scene and the drivers and rider may have information which could help.
