THREE people have been charged with burglary with violence following a break-in at a property in York.
North Yorkshire Police said a 61-year-old woman disturbed two men and a woman in the conservatory of her house in Manor Drive North, at about 3am on Wednesday, May 7.
One of the suspects punched the resident in her face, before all three fled with some prescription drugs and an iPod.
Officers located three people matching the descriptions of the suspects in Sowerby Road, and arrested two men, aged 18 and 32, and a 38-year-old woman in connection with the offence.
Deputy Chief Constable Tim Madgwick yesterday praised the quick work of police on Twitter, posting: "Some excellent work by teams over last 24hrs in relation to arrests for burglary - some charged to attend court already #teameffort"
The two men and woman are due to appear in court today.
