FIREFIGHTERS are still tackling large industrial fire at a plastic recycling plant at Great Heck, near Goole.
Two hundred tonnes of plastic recycling waste is believed to have been destroyed since the fire broke out at 5pm yesterday.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue confirmed they initially sent six fire engines an aerial ladder platform, a water bowser and three fire officers to the scene.
Crews from Selby, Huntington, Tadcaster, York and Easingwold were all sent to the scene, along with crews from West Yorkshire.
There are road closures around the village - on the A645 and Long Lane.
