MOTORISTS are facing big delays on the A64 near York after a recovery vehicle - sent to a crashed maintenance lorry - broke down.
North Yorkshire Police said the accident happened at 1.10pm today on the westbound dual carriageway at Murton, between the Hopgrove and Grimston Bar roundabouts.
A maintenance lorry which crashed into a van ended up in a ditch.
The road was closed for the recovery operation to take place but a force spokeswoman said just after 5pm that the road was likely to remain closed for another hour because the recovery lorry had broken down.
She said no one was seriously injured in the accident.
