A TRAIN operator has launched its awards to recognise people who make a difference.
The 2015 Grand Central Heart of the Community Awards sets out to find those who have made contributions to the communities along the rail provider’s routes – whether it’s raising money for good causes or volunteering.
The firm is calling on the people of York to nominate their community heroes, with the winner receiving a family trip to London, including rail travel, hotel and visit to The London Bridge Experience and Tombs attraction, as well as a £500 donation from Grand Central to the charity of their choice.
Sean English, chief operating officer at Grand Central, said: “The communities along our routes lie at the heart of what we do and last year’s nominations highlighted the hard work of so many people, dedicated to very different causes, within those communities.
"We are, therefore, very excited to launch the second year of the Grand Central Heart of the Community Awards.”
Entrants can email their nominations along with their name, age, telephone number and address to grandcentral@grayling.com using the title header York Heart of the Community Awards.
