A DRIVER crashed his car then tried to escape police by hiding in a brewery's nativity display, officers say.
The crash happened at around 2.40am on Saturday in Leeds Road in Tadcaster.
A Mini crashed into railings at the junction of Leeds Road and the A162.
Police said the driver then fled and tried to hide in the large nativity display on the lawn in front of John Smith's Brewery, just yards away.
