A LORRY fire in York last night was started deliberately, firefighters believe.
Crews from York and Acomb were called to a Ford Transit flatbed lorry which was "well alight" near the Student Castle accommodation in Walmgate at 8.14pm.
The contents of the rear of the lorry were destroyed by the fire.
Officers used a hosereel and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The cause of fire is believed deliberate."
