ARSONISTS started two straw fires in the same village.
A fire crew from Tadcaster was called to a blaze (pictured) on a field at Westfield Lane, South Milford at 7.33pm on Friday night.
This saw around 20 bales of straw destroyed.
A water bowser from Tadcaster was also sent to the scene and crews used a hosereel and pitchforks to extinguish the fire.
At 11.57am on Saturday, a crew from Selby was again called to Westfield Lane, South Milford where three tonnes of loose straw was on fire.
Officers used a hosereel and pitchforks to extinguish the fire.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said both blazes were believed to be deliberate.
