A VAN fire which caused a road closure was caused due to fuel leaking onto a hot engine, fire services have said.
Emergency services attended the scene of a van fire off the A64 on Friday, May 27.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the B1248 sliproad at about 2.40pm to reports of a Ford Transit van which was "well alight".
Fire crews from Malton attended the transit van fire, using two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
The road was closed for much of the afternoon.
