INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into a blaze which destroyed hundreds of bales of hay at a farm near Malton.
Around 500 bales of hay were alight near the village of Bulmer, near Castle Howard.
Fire crews from Malton, Acomb and Huntington were all sent to the scene on Sunday.
The fire started in a barn close to a Grade II listed building, and burned into the night.
On Monday, fire crews were sent to reinspect the scene, and a spokesman said there were still some hotspots among the wreckage.
Fire crews were assisted by the farmer, who was using machinery to spread wet debris at the scene to damp down the remaining hotspots.
Crews are set to reassess the scene on Tuesday, when fire investigation officers may be called to help determine the cause of the blaze.
