A USED car dealer faces a court bill of more than £1,700 for flouting a council notice to shut up shop.
Antony Heppenstall stored, serviced, repaired and sold vehicles from his home in South Sea Road, Flamborough, a residential road.
When East Riding of Yorkshire Council served an enforcement notice telling him to remove all the commercial vehicles, he defied it.
Beverley magistrates fined him £200 and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of more than £1,500, after he pleaded guilty to breaching the notice.
