Power cut hits 2,400 properties
MORE than 2,000 properties in York and the surrounding area were left without electricity today after a major power cut.
About 2,400 properties in the YO10, YO18,YO19,YO23,YO24,YO32,YO60 areas were affected.
Northern Powergrid was alerted to the outage at about 11.15am.
It says all power supply was restored by about midday.
A spokesperson for the company was unable to confirm what had caused the outage.
