AN alternative wedding fair for couples hoping to tie the knot in an environmentally friendly way will take place at a city centre chapel.
The event aims to promote alternative weddings that focus on the bride and groom’s needs rather than “traditional or expected” customs.
Organisers also hope visitors will get ideas for their special day to suit any budget.
The fair takes place at the Unitarian Chapel on St Saviourgate.
Representatives will speak to guests about planning same sex or interfaith weddings as well as advising people how to reduce the cost of their big day.
Stalls will be exhibiting recycled, upcycled and environmentally friendly items.
There will also be products on sale and craft tables where guests can learn how to make their own wedding favours.
The free event takes place on April 21 from 10am to 4pm. Fashion shows take place at 11am and 2pm and refreshments will be available.
