RAM-raiders smashed into a kiosk and stole a cash machine at a petrol station near Selby early this morning (August 16).
North Yorkshire Police said the incident at the Tesco Express petrol station, on Doncaster Road, in Brayton, was reported to the force shortly after 3am.
It explained that a fork lift truck was reported to have smashed into the kiosk and lifted the ATM into a waiting van and then made off in the direction of Burn, followed by a dark estate car.
The fork lift was soon abandoned nearby, the force added.
A Tesco Bank spokesperson said: “We are actively supporting the police with their investigation following the incident at our Brayton store. The store was closed for a brief period of time but has now reopened to serve our customers."
