THE A64 eastbound near Malton was closed this afternoon (August 25) due to a vehicle fire.
Firefighters were called to the scene at around 2.30pm to deal with the incident, which involved a Range Rover. Police also attended.
Diversions were put in place while the road was closed.
The road has now reopened.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire fire service said: "No-one was injured.
"The fire started in the engine compartment and damaged 70 per cent of the vehicle."
Firefighters used hose reels, breathing apparatus and dry powder extinguishers to tackle the fire.
