POLICE say a body found on the beach at Flamborough Head was that of a man - and there are no suspicious circumstances.

Humberside Police originally said the body found by a member of the public on Tuesday on the beach near the lighthouse was understood to be that of a woman.

A spokeswoman said today that a file was being prepared for the coroner following the sad death of a man.

She said the man was not local to the area but could not say where he was from.

"His death is not being treated as suspicious and his family are being supported by our officers," she said.

"Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time."
