A FIRE chief has confirmed that firefighters recovered a body from a North Yorkshire river yesterday - and issued a warning about the dangers of water at this time of year.
Fire Station Manager Bob Hoskins tweeted that crews from Stokesley and Whitby recovered a body from the River Leven in Great Ayton yesterday morning.
"Take care near water at this time of year," he added. "Temperatures are very low and even shallow water can be dangerous."
