FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a car fire in a village near Selby.
Tadcaster crews responded to reports of the incident in Sherburn-in-Elmet at about 1.45am today (Wednesday).
It involved a Ford Focus.
When they arrived, the crews tackled the fire using two hose reel jets.
Police also attended the scene.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said: "At this stage it is unclear what caused the fire. Inquiries are ongoing."
