Police are at the scene after the sudden death of a woman near York station.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service first received a call to a "medical incident" near York station at 10.38am today (August 13).
First Bus said - at 11.45am -that all outbound services from York station had been suspended due to an incident.
North Yorkshire Police later confirmed that a woman had died in Queen Street at 12.09pm.
The Press were at the scene where both a North Yorkshire Police van and ambulance manned a cordon placed around the old tram shelter.
Tarpaulin screens were up in place on the left hand side of the shelter, whilst several police and transport officers patrolled nearby.
The ambulance was seen leaving the scene at 12.38pm.
The force is asking people to avoid the area whilst they deal with the situation.
