A huge tree has fallen across a river in York.
The tree has landed on its side over the River Foss, near the junction of Huntington Road and Heworth Green.
York Rescue Boat said it will be monitoring the location as heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow (Monday, September 23), with a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office.
“Our main concern is there are weather alerts out for heavy rain over the next 24 hours and we are aware of how fast the River Foss responds to heavy rain,” a York Rescue Boat spokesperson said.
“It is also on the upstream side of the bridge and will collect a lot of debris possibly causing river levels upstream to be higher than normal.
“Our flood team members will remain on call and available to emergency services in York if required.”
