A 4-2 win over visiting Grimsby ensured York Schoolboys Under-15s finished the year on a high.
York started with a high tempo and pace and Joe Parnell, Dan Wilson and Mike Atkinson all went close early on.
But for all that Grimsby took the lead in the 13th minute with a low shot.
York licked their wounds and began a fightback inspired by man-of-the-match Mike Atkinson.
The reward came five minutes into the second half when Tom Allan weaved through a pack of players to poke the ball home.
Within a minute a move between Elliott Frodsham, Bobby Masgill, Littlechild and Josh Winn saw Lewis Rhodes score neatly.
But then Grimbsy went and equalised from an unchallenged header.
However, and despite two players nursing injuries, York pressed ahead.
A clever pass from Wilson teed up Parnell to restore the lead and the victory was wrapped up more decisively in the final minute when Tom Reay buried a shot low into the net.
