POLICE hunting a “dangerous” sex offender who has escaped from a Lincolnshire prison say he could be hiding in North Yorkshire.

Edward Braime has been on the run since making his break from HMP North Sea Camp on March 12.

Detectives who are searching for him have warned that he should not be approached.

They say North Yorkshire is one of a string of areas he may have chosen to escape to.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “Braime was in prison for serious sexual offences and is described as dangerous. He has used a number of aliases and may be using the name Jake Edwards.

“He has connections with motorbike groups and is known to have a good knowledge of boats and an interest in fishing.”
