JASON McGill has become the new managing director of York City in a revision of the club board's structure.
The new role will see McGill become responsible for the effective overall management of the football club, including business strategies and negotiations at senior level for all major commercial and football industry affairs.
McGill, who was the leading figure in 'Project Gold' which led to the long-term solution over the club's Bootham Crescent future, will also lead and promote major initiatives and deal with all key issues, including liaison with major sponsors.
The revision of McGill's role on the board is part of a series of changes implemented in a review of each director's responsibilities as the club marks a year of community ownership.
Chairman Steve Beck, who will continue in that role, said: "Considerable progress has been made by the football club so far and we are now looking to the future in defining board responsibilities and the very best use of expertise and business experience which each director can bring to the successful management of the club.
"As a group, we have worked together through difficult times and overcome major obstacles. This experience has been invaluable and we are working as a committed and united board with clear business objectives to consolidate our commercial and on-the-field ambitions.
"The restructuring of the board is a key factor in the next stage of the advancement of the football club."
Beck's duties as chairman have been defined as representation of the club at local and national events and meetings, as well as being the director responsible for youth football development at the club and in the community.
Finance director Terry Doyle has also now become deputy managing director and will be responsible for the overall management of finances and budgets, including the managing and authorising of playing contracts and making financial reports to institutions and footballing bodies.
Mike Brown's title has changed from marketing/IT director to business development director and his responsibilities will include the introduction and management of fund raising, as well as the planning and management of commercial, promotional and IT projects.
Ian McAndrew and Sophie McGill will continue in their respective roles as stadia development director and communications and community director.
The management of ground facilities and improvements will form part of McAndrew's duties, as will compliance with safety groups, licensing authorities and football regulatory authorities.
McGill will continue to be responsible for the club's communication strategy with local and national media, as well as providing a high-profile presentation of the club's affairs and managing relationships with the local authority, key community organisations and footballing bodies for community development.
