SCHOOLS across York will be getting their own York City player - thanks to a scheme by the football club to forge links with primary schools.
Earlier this year, schools were invited to adopt a City player who will work on a one-to-one basis with their selected schools.
Each player will help with literacy projects and will be involved in taking part in story telling and being quizzed by youngsters.
The following players will be going to the following schools. Chris Brass, Scarcroft; Lee Nogan, Poppleton Ousebank; Darren Edmondson, Tang Hall; Arran Reid, St Lawrence's; Sean Davies, Woodthorpe; Steve Downes, Knavesmire; Dave Merris, Dringhouses; Richard Hope, Westfield; Christian Fox, Poppleton Road; Bryan Stewart, Yearsley Grove; Stephen Brackstone, Clifton Green; Richard Cooper, Badger Hill; Leigh Wood, St Oswald's; Chris Smith, Lord Deramore; Liam George, Our Lady's RC; Mark Ovendale, Park Grove; Lee Bullock, Skelton; Mitch Ward, Clifton Without; Darren Dunning, Robert Wilkinson; Aron Wilford, Stockton-on-the-Forest; Jon Parkin, Carr Junior; Graeme Law, Archbishop's; Levent Yalcin, Fishergate; Chris Porter, Lakeside; Stuart Wise, Burton Green.
