THERE will be a chance for the public to quiz governors of York Hospital Trust when they meet in the city on Wednesday afternoon.
On the agenda will be the announcement that a payment of £4 million is to be made by Yorkshire and Humberside Strategic Health Authority to ease a £6.2 million shortfall in paying for medical treatment in our region.
It comes after North Yorkshire and York Primary Trust, the organisation which contracts hospitals in our region to care for the sick, underestimated the cost of care in our region over the last financial year.
The meeting of York Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Council of Governors will take place at 4pm at the White Cross Social Club in White Cross Road, off Huntington Road.
Details can be seen on the trust’s website at www.yorkhospitals.nhs.uk
