Visitors to York’s DIG attraction this summer might get more than they’d bargained for when they are invited to take part in a gruelling gladiatorial tournament.
York Archaeological Trust is inviting would-be gladiators to test their strength in a summer-long competition. Marking the opening of its new Roman Gladiator exhibition, Gladiators: A Cemetery of Secrets, at DIG and to launch its new YAT Pass, the Trust has introduced a novel way to keep the grown-ups amused this summer – in the form of a head-to-head Gladiator combat.
The competition can be entered by anyone aged 18 plus, presenting a YAT Pass – a new pass which allows its holder to visit all of York Archaeological Trust’s four city-centre attractions throughout the year for a single discounted price.
