John Harper, president of Scarborough and Ryedale Astronomical Society, is looking forward to the Dalby Forest Nightwatch which takes place next Saturday.
Visitors to the evening will be able to scan the skies with the local astronomical society (weather permitting), and take part in live moth trapping and bat detecting. There will also be a chance to meet an owl and learn about owl conservation work in the area.
