PHOTOGRAPHS have been released of a cannabis farm discovered during a raid in Beal.
The Press reported how 15 police officers descended on some commercial premises in Lunn Lane in the village earlier this month.
Inside they discovered about 270 cannabis plants in various stages of maturity which, police said, had a potential street value of £140,000.
Pictures of the sophisticated operation have now been released by police.
Inspector Richard Abbott, of the Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “North Yorkshire Police will use every power available to disrupt this type of organised criminal activity, which has such a detrimental impact on the wider society.
“The criminal gangs who pull the strings behind such cannabis farms can be assured that we will catch up with them sooner or later. There will be no let up in our determination to reduce and detect crime.”
A 30-year-old man from Scunthorpe and a 67-year-old man from Pontefract arrested in connection with the cannabis farm remain on police bail while inquiries continue.
