BOOK collectors have gathered at York Racecourse to browse thousands of rare and obscure editions at a major fair.
Sellers and enthusiasts arrived for York Book Fair yesterday lunchtime, and the event will continue until 5pm tomorrow.
New this year are trade stands for bookbinders, restorers, printers and packagers.
Tony Fothergill, book sale manager, said: “We’ve had a huge queue of people outside and we have been really busy, and we’re still getting a steady stream of people coming through.
“This fair attracts a high proportion of private buyers from all over the country and abroad. There are a wide range of books available. It’s not like a high-end antiques fair where you have to spend thousands. You can just spend £10.”
